This may be a boring hand, but I believe river decisions are very important because the pot size larger than on other streets.

villian is pretty LAG, 44/22/4.4

I have three basic choices:

Small bet to induce a bluff-check-raise
Value bet
Big overbet

So what's your standard play?

Value bet 1/2 - 2/3 the pot.

My standard play is to overbet all-in because I think that if he has a hand to call with he'll call anything and he if he won't call an overbet he probably won't call a value bet either. I see people drop 200bb with TPTK here all the time.

I'd value bet. Probably half the pot or as much as I think will get called by top-pair by this particular opponent.

People never call my big overbets (I've experimented endlessly with this) with TPTK. Any theories on why this might be so? I see alot of people taking your line.

edit: I know without having played much with me or looking at hands it hard to say but i'd appreciate your thoughts.

Bad table selection? Or maybe you're not generally perceived as being aggressive? I could post tons of hands. Here's the first one that I found. It's not an overbet, but I think it's pretty clear that he would have called an overbet here. And this one's great because he's drawing basically dead on the flop and completely dead on the turn. And obviously as always he's drawing dead on the river when he calls off the rest of his stack.

You need to know his river tendencies, since 44/22/4 isn't going to help much with this decision.

I'd make it 75-100 since most players call that much with two pair/set but rarely check/raise these hands since they aren't the nuts on the river.

1/2 pot unless he likes to pay off more with top pair. I think a lot of 2pair/set hands would view this as weak anyway, and CR all in.
