In a recent interview, General Norman Schwartzkopf was asked if he thought there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harbored and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks on America.

His answer was classic Schwartzkopf. He said, "I believe that forgiving them is God's function. Our job is simply to arrange the meeting."

What about the people that "harbored and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated" the Sabra and Shatilla and El Mozote massacres in Lebanon and El Salvador? Should we "arange a meeting" for them too? Or were these other massacres somehow not as bad because our side was invovled?

Guess you would have to ask General Schwartzkopf that question.
