6\'s - Good, Bad, or Ugly Fold?
NL Texas Hold'em $5 Buy-in + $1 Entry Fee
Level:6 Blinds(100/200) Table Table 35252 (Real Money) Seat 3 is the button Total number of players : 4 Seat 1: Villainaire ( $1618 ) Seat 3: rufuscat ( $2535 ) Seat 7: pinuzz ( $2642 ) Seat 8: Janker111 ( $1205 ) Trny:16389074 Level:6 Blinds(100/200) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Villainaire [ 9h 9d ] I folded... I don't have any idea why. I think it might have been emotional because I really wanted to get into the money because I was playing 3 at once and was already ITM in the other two. I'd like to know if this was a good fold or not. I'm guessing it was terrible. |

Re: 6\'s - Good, Bad, or Ugly Fold?
I'm sure you've heard this before, but why are you plaing the 5+1's? you are playing 3 other games so i'm guessing bankroll isn't a consideration and if it was you can play the 5+.50 at stars instead.
As far as the hand goes push is preflop. Even if you get called you win this hand a majority of the time. |

I'm guessing it was terrible. [/ QUOTE ] Yup. There's basically no way this isn't a push here. Given the relative stack size parity there just aren't that many hands people will call you with, so even though you're probably going to be nearly a coin flip on average when called, you won't get called nearly enough to make up for the times you pick up the blinds. In fact, if your opponents are tight enough (and you haven't been doing this much yet) you can push an awful lot of hands here, though in practice with players at a $5+1 I'd probably not go much below 77/88/AJ. |
