Huge Blinds a,j
$22
Do people call here. Everyone had played tight up to this point, but people were now regularly pushing. Is it worth calling here or do i just fold and keep pushing? I figure a,j must be in front but is it far enough in front to warrant a call? Also would peoples opinion change if they were in the blinds? or if we were on the bubble? #Game No : 2832859765 ***** Hand History for Game 2832859765 ***** NL Texas Hold'em $20 Buy-in + $2 Entry Fee Trny:16366214 Level:7 Blinds(150/300) - Wednesday, October 05, 23:33:08 EDT 2005 Table Table 14953 (Real Money) Seat 5 is the button Total number of players : 5 Seat 1: thr1314 ( $1520 ) Seat 3: littlefredie ( $2415 ) Seat 5: Olback1 ( $1460 ) Seat 7: bobblehead31 ( $625 ) Seat 9: Conrad_Peril ( $1980 ) Trny:16366214 Level:7 Blinds(150/300) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Olback1 [ Js Ac ] thr1314 folds. >You have options at Table 13997 Table!. littlefredie raises [1000]. Re: Huge Blinds a,j
easy fold. he was in CO, not the button or the SB, so give him some credit. also, you're not exactly dying with your stack.

Five-handed, with <5BB, I'm all in in a nano-second.
But that's just me. |

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
Nope I lay this one down.
"Also would peoples opinion change if they were in the blinds?" I'd definately call if villain & hero were in the blinds. "or if we were on the bubble?" Ie you were button and he pushed UTG?? Fold. |

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
That was what I figured.
Also would you call if hero is in one of the blinds and villian raised from the button? |

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
Yeah, no FE plus two to act behind you...you're in pretty good chip position and the raise comes from the second player to act. Fold it. AQ I'm singing a different tune. If both players were in the blinds I'd definitely be singing a different tune (or even if Hero was in the blinds and villain was button).

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
If you and everyone else here are willing to fold AJ, then it's correct for him to push any two hands. Include AJ and now he can only push 48%.
Clearly then, folding AJ is ridiculously exploitable. He has to be pushing 45% or more for a call to be profitable though...so this is where you decide whether your opponent has a clue about bubble play and could be pushing a lot, or if he would still only push his top X% of hands. The more likely you think his cards are the primary component of his play, the less inclined you should be to call. |

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
I'd also like to point out how much better a call is when your hand is suited. AJs can profitably be called when he pushes with as little as 32% of his hands, as opposed to 45% when it's unsuited. AQo is good when he pushes 29.5%...so being suited here gives you nearly as much equity as upping your kicker, and greatly improves your situation.
Here a call with AQo or AJs would, in my opinion, be very easy. Being unsuited makes this highly read-dependant. |

Re: Huge Blinds a,j
Wow thanks for the analysis!
I do not think any of the people had any good idea of bubble play. Well not compared to 2+2ers anyway. |
