You know what would be really interesting? If they did a second list of like the 10 poorest people in America. If there were ties which there would be then other factors like diseases, family problems, IQ and all sorts of other things would be used to narrow it down. Now at first that would seem really mean spirited but then there could be a way for people to help the "winners" out so it would be OK. At the very least people could feel better about where they are at in life making the world a happier place.

also [censored] Oracle- although it did teach me about value investing the hard way.

Here's what I think is perhaps the most interesting part of the article.

No. 1 William Gates; Net worth: $51.0 billion (up); Source: Software, Microsoft
Self-made

No. 2 Warren Buffett; Net worth $40.0 billion (down); Source: Investments, Berkshire Hathaway
Self-made

No. 3 Paul Allen; Net worth $22.5 billion (up); Source: Software, Microsoft, investments
Self-made

No. 4 Michael Dell; Net worth $18.0 billion (up); Source: Technology, Dell
Self-made

No. 5 Lawrence Ellison; Net worth $17.0 billion (up); Source: Software, Oracle
Self-made

#'s 6 through 10 are all Waltons. And, Sam Walton was self-made.

Guys like NLSoldier and Popinjay are so way above average, those sort of stats are irrelevant to such obvious genius. We can only hope they tip us off to their IPOs.
