Default Steps - Profitable? Or Time Consuming?

Been playing the Party Mini Steps, normally buying in at the 2nd step for $20 and working it from there. I multi table x 4, normally with an MTT ongoing, 2/3 ring games and when I get bored the steps (because they are fun mainly). What I would like to know is are they profitable and if so what level should you buy into to make them so?

I recently placed 4th in the mini steps winning I believe $300. I haven't kept a close record but I reckon I have broken even if not made a small profit. The time taken to reach this point for my first win gets me to wondering are the steps profitable enough to concentrate soley on?
