Default I rule (shameless brag post)

Ok ok, so I have never made any bad beat posts, but I do like to make a good low content brag post from time to time.
Here goes.

I slaughtered the 4/8 game at hollywood park casino lastnight. I arrived at 4am or so. Four hours and fifty two BB later, I was getting tired, so I got up and left. I could have stayed and continued to beat the game, but I knew that my hourly rate was going to start dropping from fatigue, and I would eventually get so off schedule that it would be hard for me to get my botany studying done.
Also, a couple appallingly bad players went broke, and two players sat down who were markedly less terrible, although still bad.

So, I accomplished a few things:

1. Pressed my advantage while it was greatest, and left when my edge began to decrease.

2. Showed another instance in which I was able to balance my poker and my school work.

Anyway. I just thought I'd write about this b/c I've made some good progress is in bettering my playing habits. I been through some bad periods where I would play too much and neglected school. With the help of therapy, discipline, and posting on this forum, I've made HUGE progress, and, win or lose, I have been feeling great about my whole approach to poker and life.

Best,
Snowball

Snowball-

Greatstuff, congratulations on the huge win. You walked out feeling that you played your best, and better yet, were wise enough to leave when that started to change. Good for you.

Next up is when you can leave a game where fortune was not kind, but on looking back you know that you played your cards well and stayed aggressive even with the recent memory of bad beat after bad beat, and did not start pressing second best situations in search of a pot, any pot. Not as good an outcome, but perhaps an even better expression of good, disciplined play.
