Default Checkfold aces?

I hurry back from a bathroom break to see 10 seconds remaining before my pair of red aces hits the automuck!

... so I do what any upstanding citizen would do and raise.

I'm in the SB, and the prior action was... 2 limpers, and the (30/5 over 90 hands) button makes it 4xBB. I make it 12xBB from the SB, and all fold to button, who calls.

Flop (~25BB):

T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I click "fold to any bet" and look away.

Anyone take a stab?

Err, I bet this all the time, don't take it to showdown though.

Why?

Button's low PFR and the fact that he's raising into a field seems to suggest that he has a strong hand. I reraise... and he calls; again, likely to have a strong hand.

- AK has a 50% chance of having the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
- AQ flopped a straight, and has a 75% chance of having a club
- KK JJ TT flopped sets
- QQ has a 50% chance of having a club.. and also has OESD
- AA has a club, so he's freerolling

I don't see why I should bet here.

I fold it. Except when I'm running bad, then this is exactly the kind of hand I use to dig a bigger hole for myself.

Heh, good point, you can't really continue on with the hand even if the flop goes check-bet-call. Don't think i can resist a bet if I'm checked to though as he might fold QQ or any other dodgy hand he might of raised pf. It is 6-max after all, your beating every Ax combination aside from AQ.

I guess check-folding here isn't bad, I don't think betting is terrible either.
