assuming 25mpg, 12k miles per year, and $3/gal gas prices it comes out to $1,440, which is compareable to your standard cash back offer or guaranteed we'll pay x amount for your trade in type of deal. It's nice, but it's just a new way to market an old sales pitch, very clever from a marketing viewpoint.

does your vehicle get 25 mpg though? i feel like this is for small cars. any medium sized car or bigger will not get this (i think )

This owuld be a better offer if they paid for X gallons of gas, instead of $X worth of gas. Then you'd be insulated from rising gas prices. As is it your year's supply or whatever might run out in October.
