How much unpaid OT do you work in a year?
I'm just curious as to how much OT people are putting in each year that is unpaid. When I speak of OT I mean anything greater than a 37.5 hour work week - or 40 in some cases. At my job I'm between 200-300 OT hours each year and all we get for it is a few days off in lieu so I'm curious if this is in the normal range for a salaried employee.

Who works a 37.5 hour week? I probably worked a couple hundred hours of OT last year. I'm salaried, so that's all uncompensated.

[/ QUOTE ] Not-for-profit (not non) is usually like a ~38.5 hour week. It has to be sub-40. I don't really remember why anymore but when i worked at UL I'm sure i was told whatever stipulation in the not-for-profit code caused them to have all the salary employees at 38.5 |

[/ QUOTE ] No I don't, but "officially" I'm on a 37.5 hour work week and my total OT does not include lunch. If I included the times I worked thru lunch I guess that's another 100 hours as I don't always work thru lunch. |

FYI salaried does not always mean you are exempt from overtime.

Re: How much unpaid OT do you work in a year?
I am a salaried It guy and I have worked 21 hours days for the last 4 days in a row and this is pretty much the norm! I would say that I work between 300 and 400 hours a year in upaid OT. If there are big project going on this number could be even higher. I have spent 5 days at work without going home before!

I am on 100% commision so I do not get paid by the hour or a salary. I have to talk some grumpy IT guy into buying something before I get paid. |
