Default Clothes Matching Question

If I'm wearing brown dress slacks, what color shoes/belt should I be wearing?

I made this a poll (cause everyone loves polls), but majority opinion will not sway me nearly as much as an educated reply.

Black. You want to add some contrast. Also, are you wearing it with a jacket? Is the jacket part of a matching suit? What color shirt? Tie? A better answer could be given with more information.

Yeah, a bit of a stretch, I know.

I'll settle for someone who sounds like they know what they're talking about at this point.

Not with a suit or jacket.

French blue shirt, white and blue striped tie.

I believe brown or black works, but if they are brown you don't want them perfectly matching your pants.
