Default Bartender tipping question

Worked late last night, the Warden was in school, so I dropped in on a local pub to have a bite and a pint or two and watch big fat David Wells throw BP to the Devil Dogs.

I ordered a Sam Octoberfest draft. The barmaid - not quite a dish but stacked - tells me that Miller Lite drafts are $1. I thank her but I'm sticking with Sam.

Four pints and some tasty $8.99 chicklin flings later, it's time to settle up. I notice that she's been charging me $1 per beer, recording the sale as Miller Lite even though I'm drinking Sam.

Total bill came to $14.92.

How much to tip?

assuming a sam is $3.50 (typical), i would probably tip $10 in this situation.

i am a pretty heavy tipper to begin with though. i like getting the bell.

What info is missing?

She was a 6.5 on my scale.

I did not ask her to charge me $1 per beer.

My wife (the Warden) and I visit this place every so often, but I'm not a "regular." I did chat with the manager when I got there, but nothing special.

Pears make you [censored].

Am I getting warmer here? What did I miss?

I'd give her $25 as well. If you're not planning on visiting this place with any frequency then a couple bucks less is ok.

Sounds about right. I usually go with normal tip + 1/2 whatever discount I received.

This was Boston Billards. Sam October is $4.50 there.

edit: I think. She didn't tell me how much the Sam costs.

Oh yeah, BB is pretty steep. Probably still $10 though, no waitress will ever complain about a $10 tip on a $15 tab.

Nice tables there, do you play? Oh and those waitresses' outfits, short black skirts with FMBs...joy.

So...what did you tip?
