Default Turn C/R bluff

i just started playing 5/10 and haven't data mined and have no notes, or any observations on this player as he just sat down.

this is a play i just made off instinct. can this line possibly be profitable in the long run? if he 3-bets do i let it go or call down with my A high? he if flat calls do i check-fold or check-call the river?

Party Poker 5.00/10.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 folds, Hero raises, CO calls, 3 folds.

Flop: (5.40 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks.

Turn: (2.70 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Hero raises

Seems pretty bad. Why didn't you bet the flop?

No, I really hate your line. Bet the flop.
