Default Check or bet?

All opponents involved are 40/5 types that play very badly. 3/6 6m if it matters.

UTG folds, MP (posted) checks, CO limps, I limp 66 OTB (?), SB completes, BB checks.

J62r, checkity check over to me - I check (?)...

OMG!

I probably raise preflop after a poster and limper, but calling isn't horrible.

If they are 40/5 players that play very badly then why not bet and give them a chance to play badly? 5-ways with a set....you are going to get at least 2 callers. And then they can pop you on the turn/river when their overcard hits, which can be very fun when you have them crushed.

What about when someone improves to a second best hand and becomes willing to put atleast 2 bets in on the turn?

This is not my default play and I'm now convinced it's less EV than playing it straight forward. No further questions.

Well, let's say someone is holding Ax. If you bet the flop they will assume that you have a pair. When an A/K/Q comes on the turn they will raise you because they think they just went ahead of you. So, you pop them with a 3-bet.

When holding a monster like this I want to give opponents every chance to make a 'raising' mistake.

Giving my opponent to make a raising mistake was the key element I forgot about. Ty.

Wow, this is a pretty easy check. I don't know what everyone else is talking about.
