Default Bankroll and win rates for 1-2NL and 2-4NL

hi,

just wondering what people thought was a comfortable bankroll and expected win rate if 2 tabling both these limits.

personally, i have been thinking bankroll of 15 buy ins to not worry about short term losses (ive had enough of getting annoyed by short term losses by how it affects my bankroll i now want to be very comfortable).
as for win rates, $30/hr for 1-2NL and $50/hr for 2-4NL?

ps. currently my bankroll is $4,000 and im going to move up to 2-4Nl when my bankroll is $6,000. Ive played some 2-4NL and i can beat the game, just that a big downswing would k.o. me too badly

is that realistic? just i havent been bothered to keep records this year except for jan and feb.

replies greatly appreciated.

6k seems fine, although I can experience 2k+ downswings in a fairly short space of time playing 2/4. I only 2/3 table it, so adding another 1/2 tables would make that possibly bigger. Thats quite a dent in a 6k roll.

Why not try adding 1 400 game to your set for a while (keeping it to the forefront while you try it on for size), then if that goes well, add another one and so forth.

It worked for me.

cheers, pleased to see you mentioning adding a 2-4NL to the set. Just that sometimes i see a easy 2-4NL and i want to play that, as well as say a 1-2NL i think is easy.

cheers

I moved to 2-4 after I hit 6k, and hit a nice run up to 10k. Then I hit my first 2k downswing.

They exist, so don't be alarmed if you lose big. Yes, add in a table of 2-4 if you're multi-tabling. Personally, the swing hit me hard mentally, so I moved back to 1-2 until I can rebuild my roll.

man, you guys make me feel like I'm way overrolled.

to the Op, when you say $30/hour, do you mean per table?

FYP for me. Just a warning, this is really easy to do.

I'm back down to 1/2 as well now.

i moved up to a table of 400nl at 5k about 2 weeks ago, and now am up about 2k and play mostly 2-3 tables of 400nl full ring and one table of 200 6-max. i just had to take 1k out for a trip to steamboat and other expenses, so we'll see how i do with less of a bankroll.

Sounds like we're all at the exact same place. (just about)

the $30 was a rough approximation. Just i kept records for the first couple of months when i just 1 tabled 1-2Nl and i was on $37/hr for that table.
Im definitely going back to doing records from now on, as im just cant gauge how well im doing (i have pokertracker but play on a non-pokertracker site). past 10 days ive picked up about $1000-$1100. thats roughly 25-30 hours. which is roughly $40/hr, but thats such a tiny sample size, if i did it 2 days ago i was up about $1500 after 20 hours etc etc and ive been playing both 1-2 and 2-4nls
only after a few months will i be able to begin to get any sort of proper hourly rate, just wondering for you guys who may of kept records/on pokertracker what your hourly rates were say per table and per hour for however many tables you do.

cheers
