Default Donktastacism

Just got back from some classes and decided to play some online poker. I jumped in a couple of good short handed games.

This particular hand was right after I sat down. It is 5 handed.

Villain is 37/11/.7 No other reads.

I am utg with AQo
I raise, folded to BB who calls.

Flop comes 5s 9h 10d

He checks, I bet he calls.

Turn : 3d

Villain bets.

My action and plan?

he is really passive. the pot is tiny. i think you can live to fight another day.

50-100, but villain is weak. I have a better read now, but at the time all I had was the numbers; so I want to see others actions based on that. I had played with him before, but for some reason I didn't remember him.

well the same numbers at 3/6 mean something entirely different at say, 50-100.

this is tough spot. it would be different if he bet the flop because in that situation there is a suggested weakness and calling down is easier.

i think i just call down with this drawy board. the pot is small but he has so little here usually - I like having AQ here.

Passive guys dont know how to play good hands. They dont want to check flop and turn but cant make themself bet or checkraise flop, fearing u will fold. So they checkcall flop. And then.... bet turn.

U dont have odds to draw if u are behind. If u cant fold against someone with aggressionfactor below 1 against a donkbet when u got overcards u can never do it unless u got a specific read.

I would fold.

even if he's bluffing with diamonds he has 15 outs. not a good best case scenario
