Not playing for a living: I love it
Well, so far Sept. has been my worst month of poker. Well, it is not even that bad (around breakeven over a few hundred 22s) but since I don't need the money to feed myself, I can still sleep well at night.
Kudos to those who play for a living, I think it would take the fun out of it for myself. |

Re: Not playing for a living: I love it
keeping a balanced life helps with the sleeping at night part
o and being bankrolled adequately, u should never be 'playing for a living' and depending on any given days, weeks or evens months results to pay bills |

Re: Not playing for a living: I love it
This man knows what he's saying.
I think the rule of thumb is to put away 6 months worth of living expenses aside before you 'go pro' and play for a living. When your wife and kids stare you with a blank face at the dinner table, having had soup for the past 6 days straight, you can't look them in the eye and say 'Honey, there's this thing called variance...' :c) Although I think it would be thrilling for a while, if having a bad month means you won't be paying bills... the thrill would die pretty quickly. |
