Critique my first $5+.50
(Not really familiar with the hand converter, I will just type out the necessary info, and can try HH's if necessary)
Hand #1 Blinds 50/100 Call all in of SS (600 chips left, UTG +1) from BB with 77 (I have around 1300 chips). I have seen him push/call some pretty mediocre hands, so I am assuming a coin flip or better. He turns KJs and I lose. Was this an OK call, or too risky? Hand #2 Blinds 50/100 I have around 600 left after the above, and I push A7o from the button. SB has 1500, BB has around 2k. Is this a good push? Hand #3 Blinds 100/200 I am SB with AJo (1000 chips). Button limps, I push. He flips 77 and I’m out. Final tally of “important” hands: 77 vs Kjs- Lose A7 vs KQ- Win AK vs AQ- Lose AJ vs 77- Lose I’m thinking I got my money in good/very good each time. I’m guessing this is the great foe: Variance? (EDIT: Forgot to say, not trying to complain about my losing coinflips/bad luck. Just making sure that my plays were correct. Thanks again!) |

Re: Critique my first $5+.50
From 2nd $5. I'm unsure about my turn bet, but I wanted his suspected flush draw/ str8 draw out. Still unsure, appreciate comments.

I wanted his suspected flush draw/ str8 draw out. [/ QUOTE ] Are you thinking you should have bet less on the flop? You gave him enough odds on the turn to make a call at a flush or straight draw. Definitely don't bet less. Only play here is to push the flop. TPTK is only good as long as it's the best hand. That make sense? |

Re: Critique my first $5+.50
I most definitely was not going to bet less/check the flop. Pushing seemed like a big overbet, but will people call in a $5 with junk like K9 in the AK example? Maybe I will start to bet more than the pot? My thinking was that the guy either had the K-rag, or the flush draw, and I could value bet him to death.(Not the straight as noted in the history, i was thinking of a diff. hand)
Looking back, calling with 77 was a sure mistake, I am going to run into an overpair far too often for it to be profitable. Thanks so much guys, appreciate the feedback. |

But beyond all that, you had TPTK with a nice pot already waiting for you. No harm in taking it right here. He had a lot of outs. Suppose a spade comes on the turn. What play would you make? Likely you chips are going in on this pot as J-Lo suggests. You want to be the one dictating when that happens. I push this flop everytime. |
