$50 NL Texas Hold'em
Seat 9 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 1: ( $69.65 ) Seat 5: ( $23.45 ) Seat 6: ( $53.45 ) Seat 9: ( $53.50 ) Seat 10: ( $66.40 ) Seat 4: hero ( $89.70 ) Seat 2: villain ( $42.50 ) Seat 8: fish ( $33.80 ) Seat 3: ( $50 ) somebody posts small blind [$0.25]. somebody else posts big blind [$0.50]. Dealt to hero [ Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ] villain calls [$0.50]. hero raises [$2]. 2 folds. fish calls [$2]. 3 folds. villain calls [$1.50]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ] Pot = $6.75 villain checks. hero bets [$4]. fish folds. villain calls [$4]. ** Dealing Turn ** [ 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ] Pot = $14.75 villain checks. Hero bets [$8]. villain raises [$16]. Hero ? Pot is currently $38.75, villain has $20.50 behind. Villain is not a fish (assume no 64 here), so clearly he's representing a set here (probably 7's, maybe 3's), (trip 5's seem unlikely, unless he's on A5s). However, JJ, TT, or 99 could also be a possible hand. Are the chances of him overplaying those hands high enough for me to call the turn raise and presumable river bet? |

Heh..I know this sounds weird, but what do people think of a min-3 bet here. Pretty likely villain is drawing to 2 outs if he's behind so no reason to protect our hand with a bigger raise. I think you can safely fold if he pushes this now and you'll probably get a free showdown if he calls. This is just something that popped into my head. Could be terrible though dont take my word.
EDIT: Just looked at villain's stack size and he's pretty low so I don't know if folding to a push is the right move. This is a tought spot given the stack sizes..I'm not sure you have enough information to fold and calling or raising pretty much commits you to going all in so I might just push and hope for the best. |
