Poker Tracker Slows down machine when reading

When PT imports the hands every 10 minutes it really slows down my machine. This also slows down my tables. Any advice to fix this? Will adding RAM fix this?

More RAM, faster hard drive, faster proccessor will all help.

Realize that PT is a pretty resource intensive proccess.

Pentium 4 2.53 512 mb ram

Would you suggest bumping ram to !MB or more?

I'm running a similar system, but with 1 gig of ram. PT still bogs things down slightly.

change it to every 2 mins?

you will slowdown more often but it will be less noticeable and not last as long, i have mine set to 1 min while 4-6 tabling

you could also change the pt.exe priority under the task manager. this could smooth things over.

Turn off Auto-Rate when importing....I found that slowed mine down....

oh yes this is a big one, especially if you have 1K+ hands with several people.
