Default computer internet connection slow

Hi all,

I have 2 laptops. Exact same model. Same wireless network card. Same wireless network. One computer downloads files 10x faster than the other. No adware or spyware or virus found using mcafee and ad-aware. Any ideas?

To begin isolating the problem I would switch the network adaptors between the two PCs. Then see if the slowness problem followed the network adaptor or stayed with the PC.
If it follows the adaptor probably a bad network adaptor
If it stays with the PC I'd look at the settings in the "local Area connection Properties"

Both laptops are connecting wirelessly using internal wireless network cards. What info can I give you from the properties window? Thanks for the help!

if you open the connection properties box you shoud see a button that says "configure" to the right of the adaptor listed. Its at the top of the window.

Click on "configure" then select the "Advanced" tab.
There should be a list of properties with the value in a box at the right. It will list things like "connection type" and "flow control"

I'd compare the values between the two PCs.
