When do you know you\'re doing good? BB/100?
If you have 2BB/100 or more after 10K hands, does this mean you can handle the level you're playing at?

[/ QUOTE ] Please, change the "your" to "you're" in the subject header while you still have a chance, and before I have an embolism. Thank you. Oh. And yeah, 2BB/100 over 10k hands doesn't guarantee you're a winning player, but it's a pretty good sign. |

no, you can run that hot without being a winner. you can also run much worse when in reality you're a huge winner. but if you read the forums, have read some books, and you think you know what you're doing, then likely your winrate isn't all luck. keep at it, you have built up some money so unless you need to spend it on rent then what do you have to lose

The best way to find out is to take a shot. [/ QUOTE ] This isn't right. Presumably the poster can't tell where he stands skill-wise just by watching others play, so he's looking at winrate. "Taking a shot" won't tell him anything because he could run unusually well or poorly during his "shot." If you need to look to winrate to tell you where you stand then you're probably best served by logging more hands than 10,000. I'm no statistician, but I'd say 25,000 or so. Or use the 300-500 BBs won standard for moving up and then move back down if you get below that level. |

Re: When do you know you\'re doing good? BB/100?
10K is not a big enough sample size to tell for sure - I have had some GREAT and TERRIBLE 10K hand swings - wait until you get in 25Kish hands and you can have a higehr confidence level in your win rate......but seems like you are doing well.....
