Hi Jeff:

I think I fold the river, even given 9:1. As much as I want to show this down, unless you have seen him coldcall with hands like J9 and check-raise middle pair into a preflop raiser, you are beat at least 90% of the time.

It's close, I'm re-reading and will reply if I change my mind.

Unless I have a note he'd play a 9 this way, I'm folding the river.

Why are we callig the turn and folding the river, because of the K or the flush?

I can see calling the flop with the Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] but i would think that we are drawing to 2 outs here a high % of the time.

Not always, but his line would be very akward for a pair of aces and he is very aggressive.

Perhaps this hand comes down to table feel. I thought strongly about folding the river, but I felt that there was still a chance he was out of line and the Ks was the perfect scare card.

Maybe this is just crazy, but what if you 3-bet the flop. If he caps you, it's a pretty easy fold on the turn UI. If he just calls, you can check through the turn and get to showdown for 1.5BB(assuming he beats the river) instead of 2BB.

I don't like it. What if the opponent is capable of capping a flush draw or middle pair on flop? Jeff has said that he is very aggressive.

I like your play Jeff. River is very close...but I would fold.

Yep.

I never use lines like this because I can't trust my opponents(especially aggressive ones) to behave and check the turn. Also, I want to squeeze another bet out of a bluff and another 2 bets out of a semi-bluff/missed draw.

Yeah, it was just a thought. Thoughts like that are probably why my flop aggression is 3.5.
