Getting fancy.
OK, these are a few hands that got me thinking if doing something other then mucking could be a good idea. In all of them I had a good table image, but you know how those $10+1 players are...
1. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (6 handed) converter UTG (t770) MP (t1155) CO (t2170) Button (t850) Hero (t780) BB (t2275) Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t300, 3 folds, Hero ? 2. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter MP (t1005) Button (t235) SB (t1110) Hero (t855) UTG (t4795) Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, SB raises to t200, Hero ? 3. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) converter UTG (t2352) Button (t1080) SB (t3578) Hero (t990) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Button raises to t400, 1 fold, Hero ? |

Re: Getting fancy.
IMHO you should have them covered to make these plays, and a comfortable stack to fall back on. In higher stakes, people will be more suspicious of a bluff in the cases I'm suggesting, but not in the 11s I think.

Re: Getting fancy.
To me one looks read dependant, but it's close I think. I probably push. Two is a clear push. Three looks to be a fold, because you're getting called alot.

Re: Getting fancy.
You want FE in all of these pushes. You have alot in 2, but not much in 1 or 3.

Re: Getting fancy.
1. semi read dependant. Will the BB be 200 before it gets to you? more often then not I think this is a muck. BB is going to call his minraise a lot and stuff happens...
2. Push 3. Fold |

Re: Getting fancy.
1. Yes, next BB will be 200 to me.
3. Isn't calling and pushing any flop an option here? |

Re: Getting fancy.
I think I'm all-in over the top in all first 2 hands, fold hand 3.
Hand 3 is the closest I think. 5x BB, Button minraise could mean a lot of things, J9 really isn't good, you may not have FE. So I fold. If Big Stack will fold his BB in hand 3, you can get other guy to laydown 2.5:1 odds, with lousy overs. I think I like the stop and go there. |

Re: Getting fancy.
OK, so before I go to bed, this is what happened in each hand (heh, I didn't fold any of these). I'd like your comments on each one.
1. Called and so did the BB. The flop came 4K6, I pushed. I *really* didn't like my move after I did it - thought it was a sign of tilt, my day was kinda nasty today. 2. Pushed back and got insta-called by ATo. 3. Went for a stop and go. The flop came 9-high and I got called by AKo. |

Re: Getting fancy.
By what I meant about Big stack folding BB in hand 3 was meant to be applied to hand 1. :/
I think you got to take gambles there. Hand 3 is also a bit read-dependent, but about same amount of BB, and 88 is kinda much better than J9. |
