Re: A9o from the BB. Postflop ($33)
Personally I dont like the check after the flop, id be making a decent sized bet 3/4 or a pot sized bet. Happy to pick up the 100 in pot rather then play a tricky A9 where you dont really know where you are at unless you make the raise.
Once you checked, I dont overly like the call either, id once again be raising to find out your position in the hand. After the turn its difficult to see you getting called with any hand that doesnt beat you unless he is a real donk |

I would have check-raised on the flop.

Re: A9o from the BB. Postflop ($33)
I probably speak for unarmed as well when I say that I would check the turn
edit: checkraising and checkcalling the flop both look good to me. I would probably raise though. |

Re: A9o from the BB. Postflop ($33)
I like betting out the flop. I bet out to try take it down now, control the pot size, and gain information. I don't like the turn either. If you think you're still ahead, just check/call and allow him to keep betting a worst hand. A free card doesn't really hurt you (the flush draw is rare) so betting out on the turn only will fold bluffs and worst hands that would keep betting.

My take on the overbet is one of a few things. 1) A very bad kicker 2) Some sort of pocket pair 3) A flush draw bet Either way, the intent of villain's bet is to take it down now. So I'm not certain how he would play a c/r. I think there's too much ego for him to fold. I think donkeys who make the massive overbet, will call an allin flush draw. I agree that a open bet is prolly a wiser line. How do you play a reraise? |

1) The massive overbet by donkey [/ QUOTE ] Where is the massive overbet? He slightly more than potted it. I think your bet on the turn (600 into a pot of 340 when you have ~800 behind) is a lot more puzzling. Are you saying you're trying to make a donkish looking bet? I don't much care for the turn bet. If you think he's overaggressive, why not try and extract more chips from him by letting him bet? If you don't think he's putting more money in the pot on his own, do you think he's calling this bet? What are you hoping to achieve with that turn bet? |

Re: A9o from the BB. Postflop ($33)
How much of check raise would you go on the flop here? Would you just raise to a pot size bet? If he just called would have you pushed the turn or just checked?
