Default OOT Chime in on \'Ripley\'s Game\'

this was the sequel to 'A Talented Mr Ripley' the original being Jude Law's movie which brought stardom to him & possibly Matt Daemon. The original was a good film.

I'm curious to know what OOT thinks of this film. I think it was okay, better than average not great. The plot was a little ridiculous with the train scence and all.

best line, "we know I can't tell if he's dead" or some such.

three starts out of five.

The film "American Friend" was taken from this book in the 70's by director Wim Wenders and was pretty good. I didn't read the book, but liked this version; it concentrated on the man encouraged to do the killing, Bruno Ganz here. Dennis Hopper was the instigator. It was creepy and sad and atmospheric, and the acting was great.

I might rent this newer version, but it sure seemed to vanish from the box office compared to the Damon version.
