OOT Chime in on \'Ripley\'s Game\'
this was the sequel to 'A Talented Mr Ripley' the original being Jude Law's movie which brought stardom to him & possibly Matt Daemon. The original was a good film.
I'm curious to know what OOT thinks of this film. I think it was okay, better than average not great. The plot was a little ridiculous with the train scence and all. best line, "we know I can't tell if he's dead" or some such. three starts out of five. |

Re: OOT Chime in on \'Ripley\'s Game\'
The film "American Friend" was taken from this book in the 70's by director Wim Wenders and was pretty good. I didn't read the book, but liked this version; it concentrated on the man encouraged to do the killing, Bruno Ganz here. Dennis Hopper was the instigator. It was creepy and sad and atmospheric, and the acting was great.
I might rent this newer version, but it sure seemed to vanish from the box office compared to the Damon version. |
