I have no idea how good shainiac is, but I'm not sure El D will pony up 10k to play vs just anybody, but I may be wrong.

That said, it seems his value is just as high if not higher as a mentor/coach and clear opinion as it is as a poker player. I don't care to see him at my table, but I also didn't run from him when I have. Then again, I played 6 hours of 2-4 handed 25-50 NL with Tom Keller and Prahlad Friedman one night, so my game selection is less than stellar. I certainly wouldn't put MY 10k up versus him,(especially since I don't have it right now....).

Long as you don't rankle him, or he's not already pre-rankled or feeling mischievous, El D is about the best consistent advice you will see on these pages.

el d's fame came from his really solid HUSH advice (as in, like, go to the archies and read, dummy) and his reputation from always having the best and most realistic (and honest) opinions in OOT
