I actually think this makes sense given that it's unlikley Mat knows the context of what went on, and once he does, it will all be cleared up.

GoT and Evan live together, Evan used GoT's account (since he was away) to sticky the SS digest and announced this. Mat thought this seemed fishy and banned Evan (and GoT?).

Again, if you're Mat, all you know is that one poster has hijacked a mod's account. I think this seems like a reasonable thing do put the breaks on until you understand. Check SS and you'll see Mat's reasonable response.
