6k to spend on a car- what do you buy?

I'm selling my 98 Taurus and are going to put in about 2500 of my own money in addition towards a new car. What should I buy?

I am looking for a car. It does not matter if it is a coupe or a sedan, or if it's small to mid to large. It must be able to seat 5 though. Style is kinda important but is not the biggest factor. My Taurus has 70k on it so I'd like to keep the new car that I get to under 80k miles if possible. I'm willing to consider all cars that are 97 and newer. I don't mind picking up a 97 if it's a nice car.

Foreign, American, it doesn't matter to me, as long as parts are easily accessible for replacement and the car has been generally reliable over the years.

I do not want an SUV, van, or pickup. It has to be a car.

Maybe I should edit my post to BAN discussions of cars liek BMWs and Benzes from the discussion.

I made the parameters 97 and newer. There is no nice BMW that ill be able to find for that price unless it has a TON of miles on it.
