Default in a hand with a loose or tight player

i know that you should bluff a little more against tight players and value bet more against loose players in a hand. so with that being said, i still have trouble as the hand progresses, i'm not too comfortable playing after the flop.

let's say you bluff against a tight player, and he calls. how can you determine if he can't be pushed out of the hand? if you think you can push him out of the hand with a turn or river bet, what's the range you should be betting?

i know when you value bet against a loose player, the play has a positive expectation in the long run. but let's say you value bet against a loose player, and he raises. how do you know if you're beat or not?
