Default Help Me Buy Her a Notebook, Please

I'd like to buy my girlfriend a laptop with wireless, CD R/W, 256 meg, 40 gb drive, 15" screen, parallel port...something basic. I'm not real computer savvy...

1. how much should I hope to spend? (I'm cheap!)
2. I see stuff about coupons...anyone tell me where to find them?
3. What are good brand names or those to avoid?

Need some expert advice please...

You can start with a lower end Dell Inspiron 2200 Notebook and then customize it to fit the exacts needs you are looking for.

Coupons can be found here, possibly.

Even if you are gonna buy a budget computer I would highly recomend getting 512mb ram instead of 256mb.

definetaly!!!

also, you want a processor > 1.5 Ghz. Anything less is slooooooow. Heck, I'm not even happy with my 2.4 - Hope 3.6 does the trick.
