Hard drive / Car stereo interface
I have about 80 GB of music on an external hard drive. I want to find a car stereo that has a USB port where I can just plug in my hard drive and play. I have not been able to find such an animal that can directly interface with the hard drive.
Can anyone suggest a product(s) for me? Thanks. I cross-posted in OOT. Not sure which forum is appropriate. |

Re: Hard drive / Car stereo interface
An mp3 player with a head unit that it can communicate with might be your best bet.
Your other option is to install a computer in your car (my friend did this). I'm pretty sure he created a web journal with pics on his website on how he did this. It was a pretty intensive effort. But if you are interested PM me and I will see if I can find the link. |

Re: Hard drive / Car stereo interface
I have an Archos AV420 which I have integrated into my car's stereo. It plays audio and video and has been a real nice addition. I believe they make up to a 100 gig version and it integrates easily with Windows. You may just be looking to work with your existing hard drive, but this could be an idea also.
