Default BB defense.

I am running tighter in the BB these days than I was before, and it seems to be ok (fold BB low 60s versus low 50s).

I just had a REALLY tight session though, where I folded my BB 90% to a raise. Cold deck, probably, but tell me what to do with these.

A2o to a SB raise.

KQs to a CO raise. (easy 3-bet?)

K4o to a CO raise 4-handed.

J8o to a button raise.

Um... those were the best hands I had in the BB.

My play, barring reads:

A2o to a SB raise.
3bet.

KQs to a CO raise. (easy 3-bet?)

K4o to a CO raise 4-handed.
fold. Amended to call if he's a light raiser.

J8o to a button raise.
call.

You guys always 3-bet A2o to a steal?

I'd say I 3-bet A5o+ every time, but I'm a little gunshy of the littler ones.

I agree that seems excessive. HEPAP, Jason Pohl and many others recommend caution with ANY hand containing a duece or a trey for good reason.

I just call and let the flop dictate my play. If flop looks harmless and SB checks to me... i'll bet and probably show down ace high. If i flop an ace i have the option of slowplaying it (which doesn't work as well after a raise preflop). If i flop bottom pair with my shitty kicker (A2-A4), i bet/call with caution.

I'll take taking down the pot on the flop or turn because I was the aggressor over slowplaying a naked A anyday. A2 isn't an auto 3bet, but I'll do it against an unknown. The high card plus position plus regaining the initiative equals 3bet.

I think the best argument for just calling is that you can either pop an A on the flop or resteal a benign flop. The problem with this is that I think a SB opener has a wide enough range that its dangerous to try to resteal any flop.

I 3 bet KQs and fold the rest.

As someone else said I don't like playing with a deuce in my hand especially against an aggressor.

Um, with A2o you not only have an Ace but you have position. Seriously.

Anyway, 3-bet, 3-bet, fold, call.
