its a raise or fold preflop for me, so you don't get into this sort of trouble....
Hes either trying to mini raise steal or hes looking for the reraise...
I don't know what hes been doing all game, but if hes been mini raise stealing, this is a reraise.... if you feel he has something, lay it preflop.....use your judgement based on his past behaviour...

I guess he had an overpair from this, or 2 overcards and figures u have nothing, hard to call though
