Are there any legit Poker Organizations?
Are there any legitimate poker organizations out there? Any groups that have any actual lobbying strength – with non-profit status?
I occasionally see some adds for one, then a few months later, nothing. I see the “National Poker Association” at myNPA.org , but the site doesn’t mention if it’s non-profit or not. Is it for real? Does it have any members? |

Re: Are there any legit Poker Organizations?
Interesting question. Certainly NOT every company running poker games is allied with the other.
Here in Southern California, the Tribal Indian Casinos and the L.A. Poker Rooms continue to lobby for somewhat contrary allowances/issues, etc. Furthermore, most live-action casinos and poker rooms probably oppose any sort of legitimacy given the online poker companies. Without a doubt, the online poker sites should set aside a few bucks and jointly pay a lobbyist to help with the USA laws. Online poker would grow even more if the cloud over it's legality were improved even a tiny bit. This forum is fairly low-traffic. You might ask this question over on "Internet Gambling" or "news, Views, Gossip" and get more response. |
