My theory why UB has not advanced its market position
I believe it was 4 years ago they opened that room and they still only have those same 4 table backgrounds to choose from as they did on day 1. Their "UB Points Store" has shared similar growth.
Its that kind of innovation that has helped them get no further then they were when they opened. |

And I have 7,000 UB points and they are worthless. The reward system is a joke.

[/ QUOTE ] Among other things, I use their points every year for my subscription to CardPlayer, so I actually like it a lot better than Partys. IMHO PokerRooms are the best since they are now letting you trade in the points for (easily cleared) cash bonii |

Re: My theory why UB has not advanced its market position
They have not put as much into advertizing as PokerStars and PartyPoker have.
I don't think the backgrounds and points have anything to do with it, Party is still exactly the same, and PokerStars is one of the top 3 ugliest sites on the web. UB always goes through terrible server problems every time it expands. |

They have not put as much into advertizing as PokerStars and PartyPoker have. [/ QUOTE ] This is 100% the reason. If they used some of their big name pro talent in commercials to drive new players to the site they might really grow. Bad products with more money spent on marketing often dominate better ones with little such money spent. |

Re: My theory why UB has not advanced its market position
The reason they don't attract more people is because Hellmuth has a small allowance there. Give Phil more money to play with and they will come.

I have to disagree with this. Stars' interface and usability is second to none, in my humble opinion. In terms of overall success, Party and Stars know how to sell and promote themselves. UB still has something of the night about it. |
