Default Day in the life of a Red Sox fan...

i know that team is full of self-proclaimed "idiots", but i want to know how you red sox fans really feel about this manny "i want to be traded/oh wait, now i don't" ordeal.

i mean i know he is leading the league in RBIs and tied for 1st in HRs, but is this someone you really want to root for?

what's it like to know that manny has this ball club by the balls?

don't take this the wrong way, i'm not trying to burn red sox fans (this time only), i just would like to know your point of view.

im not a bosox fan btw.

manny is a bit of a head case but he doesnt mean anything by it. its just manny. hes harmless. he used to play for cleveland and no gave a damn what he did. he hit the ball well and we loved him. no matter how much dumb [censored] we just shook are heads and maybe laughed.

but when he bounced to beantown for the paycheck he didnt realize how much scrutiny he was gonna undergo. its kinda funny but it seems like he misses the old situation in cleve.

The sox were between a rock and hard place. If it were off season they could dump him and use his money for other players. But mid season that's impossible.

I was watching him today and although I've been really pissed at him the last few days I just couldn't stay mad. And the reason for this is I realized that emotionally he is a child.

The whole thing was so silly. He caused all that uproar over what? Because he thought that he wanted to be traded. Now he says he loves it here, wants to stay. He even said that he was "just Manny being Manny". Incredible.

Exactly. Pretend you've got a 9-year-old who goes .300/40/120 every year on your team. When he pitches a fit are you really going to get that mad at him?

Besides, we're Red Sox fans. We LIKE being abused. We're complex like that. Did you see the ovation he got when he showed up in the on-deck circle to pinch hit? Most/all of those people couldn't have even seen him say the pre-game mea culpas.

Actually, imo, you're the one that is annoying.

Nobody else seemed to have a problem here but you. God forbit anyone say anything bad about your stupid blowsox.

This isn't your bubble world of Blahston. If you don't like something, skip it, respond to it, or just plain STFU.

You would think that after years (and year and years) of your team sucking, you would be able to take some jabs, but evidently, you can't take it.

Oh and by the way, if anyone should be banned, it's you, for circumventing the profanity filter

Good thing nobody pushed for you to be moderator.

Unless they could have traded him for Bobby Abreu, I wanted to see him stay. I wouldn't have lost sleep either way.

Yes, obviously. Great player and seems like a genuinely good guy despite being one goofy bastard. I suppose you prefer someone who hustles on every play but is an abject disgrace of a human being like Sheff? Fair enough.

The question doesn't make any sense. Please explain.
