Default middlepair against raiser

3$/6$ (5handed)

The only read I have on utg is that he overplay a set of 8s against an obvious flush.

Hero is dealt K5s in the BB

Preflop:utg raise,3 fold, Hero calls

Flop: Q54 rainbow
Hero checks, utg bet,Hero raises, utg calls

Turn:2
Hero bet,utg calls

River:7
Hero checks,utg bet, Hero calls

What do you think about the preflop call?
Is this standard postflop?

He could easily have you beat with 66-TT or any Q or something like A7s. After you raised the flop bet the turn and checked to him on the river I dont like the call but I think you have to make it.

I think the preflop call is too loose versus a normal hijack raise.

Bet the river to extract a call from lower pairs and big aces. Checkcalling will usually not save you any money when you are beat.
