Default Moving to San Diego (like 80% sure)

Yet I have never been there. Not a big deal, I plan on visiting in October/November and moving Jan 1st if I like it(from all accounts I will). I have some questions/request for suggestions.

Moving cross country. Fortunately the apartment I am living in was furnished with a bed, kitchen area washer dryer etc....so the only things I would have to move are:

Computer equipment

Desk/Side table (together they cost like $70?)
Desk Chair ($100+)

A futon Sofa

TV (again cheap)

CD boom box (cheap, old. sucks)

My IPOD dock player

Clothes (limited amount due to the fact that I plan on losing a significant amount of weight, and restocking my wardrobe to its full pimp potential)

Shitload of books

2 dead hookers

Really that's about it. I drive a Camry, and have decent trunk space, so I suppose I could fit most of my stuff in the car. I also have heard shipping stuff via Amtrak is cheap. Should I just ditch the cheap electronics (TV/Radio) and leave it for the next tenant? Actually the stereo is small enough to fit in the car....SO leave the TV and fit the computer in the trunk.....

I plan on driving, and setting a course that hits various casino. Anyone want to go for the trip?

PS- Joetall is thinking of coming with me, but who knows with the way that boy falls in love.

When I moved crosstown I got all new stuff. Ditch the cheap [censored], anything worth less then 100 bucks and is not "new" or what you really want, just give to goodwill and take the tax write off.

True man. The fact your even considering bringing:

Desk/Side table (together they cost like $70?)

Across country with you is absolutely absurd. I thought you were a baller.

What do you mean by a sh!tload of books? Two of my uncles are academics, so my vision of a sh!tload is more than can be carried in a the trunk of a car in a single trip.

Fit what you can in the trunk and screw the rest... if your books don't fit, find a cheap alternative means of shipping (like amtrak if they do that or try a bus company).

[censored] that. Buy yourself a damned one-way flight and you're not bringing anything you can't fit in your carry-on.

where these rumors of me being a baller come from, i will never know. [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

i wont bring em, i guess from my poor upbringing i feel guilty wasting stuff. as usual OOT clears my conscience.

what ares do i need to loom at for san diegoites. also, playing poker for a living could be an issue. so if somebody has property they want to rent out, let me know. i can pay 3-4 months in advance if its an issue.

[censored] it. You're not allowed to drive a Camry in San Diego, anyway. You're going to need at least a BMW 325 or a Lexus for beginners.
