Default Tricky hand.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) converter

CO (t1500)
Button (t2087)
SB (t2963)
Hero (t970)
UTG (t350)
MP1 (t795)
MP2 (t1335)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP2 calls t100, 1 fold, Button calls t100, SB completes, Hero checks.

I almost went for a PVS here. Would it have been a good spot to shove it here?

Flop: (t400) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets t100, Hero raises to t400, MP2 folds, Button calls t400, SB folds.

Is this OK? I'm not sure if I like getting the pot so big in this spot...

Turn: (t1300) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets t1300, Hero calls t470 (All-In).

I didn't feel that Button was betting a flush or even a straight. This is very read based, but I really felt I could be ahead, therefore the call.

why not just push the flop? you're esscentially committed anyway. if you're looking to get paid off in full on a TP/MP holder, then why the freebee on turn (on the assumption, he's not betting the flush)? with that flop, i'm pushing hoping someone doesn't suck out on a donk flush/straight call draw.

With 500 in the pot and many possible draws out there, your hand is vulnerable to too many turn cards. I think you have to push the flop with 870 behind. If the third flop card was something like the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], then I would be tempted to play it cute and raise about 300.

Edit: oops, I was a little slow on clicking the Submit button, but I think you get the point.

Push the flop.

Does anyone PVS against more than one player?

This is my one strategy post for the week.

i think there are advantages to two vs. one, but w/ big stack in the way, i don't know if he's laying down with all of the dead chips out there.

Often, if the limpers are button and SB and I'm BB. Could do it if one of them is CO too, if there are otherwise favorable conditions for PVS. I could be overdoing the PVS a bit, but it's hard to believe since it's working so damn good in the 50+5's
