player limped on the button, is this pretty standard or not?

perfect IMO.

bigstack-UTG is open-raising w/ a hand, button is certainly pushing over the top w/ a monster. though, button might feel just a tad committed (incorrectly so), i'll take 88 against a random limp hand with your stack size.
