They're o.k. but people put them in foods where they don't belong. Whoever first put them on nachos should be killed slowly with a very dull gardening tool.

I like them when cooked on pizza (with pepperoni), but do not like them raw.

black olives are fine in the proper context, however if they are used as a cheap substitute in food that clearly demands a better olive (ie black instead of kalamata in a greek salad) they are repugnant
