Default Self-Restriction

I recently signed a "Limited Self-Restriction" at Harrah's, East Chicago, Indiana. "Limited" because I was told that a "full" Self-Restriction, would bar me from the entire property, even to eat at the buffet. My original intention was to be barred, from playing in that horror of horrors, poker room. Anyway, under the limited restriction, I won't receive mailings from the joint, won't be extended any credit, and will be allowed no check cashing privileges. Do you have any experience with "Self-Restrictions"?

you need to get some help from a professional. you cant control your gambling and can only ruin your life. you must give up all betting and stay out of casinos totally. then get some new interests and have a better life. good luck.

Actually, I won't quit playing cards. I won't go back to Harrah's East Chicago, because of the unbelievably bad floor decisions, (which I don't always accept "gracefully"). I am not going back in that room, because I don't want THEM TO BAR ME, (which, I think they are pretty close to doing). I'm not going back in there.

(I see very few posts, from persons who have had it, with a particular poker room.) When you play a lot, the joint is close, and you are making money, quitting the joint requires as much mental strength, as it does, to play well. I was just wondering if anyone else had done the Self Restriction thing.

So you're saying you're a winning poker player who just can't cope with the social aspects of a poker room long enough to make money?

Zee's still right. Find a better life.

Now, that's a pretty accurate description of my situation:

I'm in my eighteenth year of playing in public cardrooms. I have run out of patience, with some of the lunacy I see. Be grateful, if you are in an area, which has competent staff.

I've played in that room quite often and while it's no Vegas, I didn't think it was run THAT bad. If you really want to see a poorly run room that couldn't care less about what their customers want, try Hollywood's poker room in Aurora. You could have 50 people show up who want to play 20-40 and the manager would tell them all to, "go F--k themselves!". They wouldn't spread it.
