Default Bubble Push check

I've had so many 4th place finishes lately, how is this? I was trying to stay aggressive since I couldn't count on the SS busting.

$20+2

Seat 3: ercwil (8,360)
Seat 5: FirthBrookhaven (740)
Seat 8: UrbanMeyer1 (1,650)
Seat 9: luckymitch13 (2,750) - very very loose
FirthBrookhaven posts the small blind of 80
UrbanMeyer1 posts the big blind of 160
The button is in seat #3
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to UrbanMeyer1 [6d 6s]
luckymitch13 calls 160
ercwil folds
FirthBrookhaven calls 80
UrbanMeyer1 raises to 1,650, and is all in

Any help? Am I just being way too over aggressive here?

With the small stack in, just check and take a flop. I don't want to risk getting called by the loose big stack when I'm at most a 55% favorite with a stack much shorter than me in.

Are you trying to steal blinds here, or are you hoping that the short stack will call? Given you're in the BB I probably just play this one for set value, and check PF.

I guess in this situation I push if I think the Short Stack with call me with a race or worse. If the big stack calls I only have to beat the short stack or hope the big beats us both to money.

I was looking to steal, but I guess I was being overaggressive. Thanks for the help.

I agree, hitting a set here would be nice too. I would probably push 88+ here.

There's loose meaning he'll limp with anything, but fold to a raise and there's loose meaning he'll call anything PF. If he hasn't shown a tendency to fold to a raise PF, I'd definitely check and see a flop.

If he's shown a tendency to fold to a raise after limping, I like the play better. My general inclination is to check and play for the set, though.
