Default Pot limit Omaha 8. all the money in on the turn

i got all my money in on the turn with what i thought was a big freeroll. turns out, i just had the backdoor flush draw. would anyone have waited to commit the rest of their stack until the flush got there? i had been playing with the guy for 3 hours, and i'm not 100% that he would have gone all in with just a high or just a low.

Default great hand

There is no problem with you pushing all in on the turn here as you have the nut low and 14 (6+8) outs to a straight or a flush. As it turned out he had the same hand as you minus the flush draw. So when he called you were freerolling for the high end of the pot with the flush, with absolutely no chance of getting less than half the pot. After knowing your oppentents hand you get 50% of the pot 80% of the time, (32/40 nonflush cards), and 75% of the pot 20% of the time(8/40 flush cards). Sounds like an oppertunity pros wait and hope all night for. Played very well Twisted, good hand.

Default Re: Pot limit Omaha 8. all the money in on the turn

In a loose game against a loose player your redraws are enough to justify going all in. In many live games, a lot of players know not to bet the pot with a one-way hand (even a low that can't be counterfeited), which changes your play drastically. Against a solid player without a lot of spunk you might well call the turn and then lay down on the river if your flush or straight didn't come, because if he bet the pot into you on the river you'd know you were getting quartered.
