Default Keeping Notes

Is keeping notes at the table bad form or is it okay?

Are you talking about taking notes at the table? As in writing stuff down?

If so, some of my best friends take notes at the table (in Las Vegas casinos) and I've never seen anyone object (joke, but not object :-)

Best of Luck

Howard

Yep, that's what I meant. Thanks.

I just think it might help if I kept notes the next time I'm in a brick & mortar and I have a hand I win or lose.

Or just one I saw.

I have actually thought about doing this. One of the reasons I decided against it was something I read. I think it was in HPFAP. It talked about how players at the table perceive you and how you don't want them thinking that you are taking it all that serious. If they do they will tighten up when you are in against them rather than sit there and order another scotch.

Another reason I decided against it was that I have to learn how to do it without the notes. I was thinking about counting bets in the pot and keeping track on a note pad. That way I could figure out the odds better. Still I have come to the conclusion that I have to learn how to do it without the note pad.

I have seen someone at the table with a chart on starting hands. Noone really said anything.

Don't be obvious, some players will tighten up against you.
I play at card club attached to a horsetrack, I keep some hand notes on a racing forum sometimes. Everybody just thinks I betting the ponies. You can also take a hand braek a take notes away from the table
