Default Limping with AA

Here's a hand in which the villian limped with AA. He won the hand, but the limp cost him a pile of chips (sorry, couldn't get the converter to work). With the preflop limp and then the aggression on the flop and turn, I figured he had something huge. If he had shown normal aggression preflop, I believe I would have had a harder time laying this down (if all our chips didn't end up in the middle preflop).

PP $20 + $2

Raise more PF. Nice fold on the turn.

I think that what gives his hand away is not the limping but the goofy min-bet/min-rr sequence on the flop. It's possible that he could have gotten all the money in preflop, so it's conceivable that this cost him money. That said, picking an example of where an opponent has KK to show how limping with AA costs him lots of money is kind of extreme. This is like picking an example where limping with AA saves him money because his opponent flops a set.

I assume he showed his aces when you folded.

Anyway, I'm surprised by the little preflop raise. Is that standard for you? Yesterday I was busted by a guy who only mini-raised on level 1. I called with JJ, and I had the overpair on the flop. I just gave him all my chips on the flop and the turn, as he had KK.

I wonder sometimes if I overplay these hands postflop AA/KK that is, but I so rarely lose with AA & KK, and they pay me so often, I don't see why you wouldn't raise more preflop with this hand.
