Im not a poker god but I'll say hand 1, although in dangerous territory, was played well.

Hand 2 is pretty standard.

On hand 3 I like to call the flop bet, it could be a probe bet. Although this early in the tournament I lay down on any aggression on later streets.

I like your play in the first two hands, although i would probably lead out on hand 3. Alternatively you could try a check raise here.

I would raise the flop in every hand.

Why do you think you are beat on the 2nd and 3rd hands?

I agree. Why are you putting so much stock in 2 pair on a 3 diamond board but not 44 when he's screaming "I have a 3 or worse but think it's good"? And top pair queen kicker is worth nothing to you?

both hands i would probably check-fold... but i also play extremely ultra tight in the early levels. the first hand, top pair aces with 10 kicker and a possible flush on the board - with 2 more cards to come probably isnt that great of a holding, and given the fact that your only playing for 90 chips at the moment it probably isnt worth getting involved in. the second hand, same situation, not that strong of a hand, and in my opinion, no real incentive to play it.

So is there an incentive to play any good but not great hand early on? How about potential to earn bets from weak players?

oh didnt notice there were 3 hands there... the one with 44, i would fold preflop, with the lack of multiple limpers you arent really getting the odds to hit a set (which is what you want). every time you have a hand like 44 you will always get overcards and wont know what to do... or at least i wouldnt. and i guess if you are set on playing the hand at least open raise with it. i hate people open limping on the button

i think the only way there is a real incentive to play a hand in early levels is if you are up against multiple opponents (big pot) with a monster hand.

This is a good point. To elaborate on it, why are you playing 44 here if you don't want to continue on basically the only board you can be comfortable on other than a set board? Playing just for set value can't be profitable against just the blinds unless they really suck, and if they really suck you shouldn't be folding this hand.
