Re: Kings Post Flop With a safe flop.... played wrong?
Make a smaller raise. I think you want a call here as long as you make it expensive to draw. This may be too much of an overbet.

Call me old fashioned, but I like to raise preflop with the second best hand in the game.

Re: Kings Post Flop With a safe flop.... played wrong?
Raise pre-flop. This might also increase the pot size on the flop, making your push on the flop less of an overbet.
With AA/KK I like to try and pace the hand to where the betting finishes on the flop. Ideally you either win a decent pot uncontested, or double up vs. top pair who gets in on the flop. If there are 400 chips in the pot on the flop and I have 700 in my stack, I don't mind getting them all in on most flops with AA/KK overpair. |

Re: Kings Post Flop With a safe flop.... played wrong?
Yeah that makes sense. I guess my thinking there was that I didn't want to reraise and get raised back and then have to go up against something like AQ. I mean it was probably the right thing to do but because of my position I was a scared. What should the reraise be to, 200?
I mean it was early too and usually early I don't want to go down with the ship esp. with someone who is stupid (not that I know any of the players to be stupid). I suppose witha flop like this though you are probably going to win a small pot (or possibly medium) or get broke. Am I wrong? Later |

If you re-raise (as you should, IMO) and he re-raises, that is perfect! You have kings. Then you push pre-flop as a 7:3 favorite. The way you played it, AQ gets off cheap after he whiffs the flop. |

Re-raise PF. Stop playing "I'm a little girl" poker and you'll do just fine.
