Default Do you dominate your home poker games?

Since I have been reading here and read some books and played non stop for the last year now. I have really been dominating the home games I play in. Doesnt matter if its tourney or cash/ring games. Anyone else in this same boat?

Be careful. I got banned from almost every home game I used to play in because of that. Now the only home games I can get into are these crappy .05/.10 games. I do it because it's fun to play live. I won't go to FL casinos (10% rake, $2 max bet). So I'm stuck with online or low limit home games. I'm trying to get into a $100 NL home game right now, and if accepted, I think what I'll do is control how much I win. That is, if I'm up $400 in two hours, I'll purposfully play bad and lose a little back (no more than $100).

So long as you are staying under the radar and people aren't unhappy to play against you, you should be fine. Keep raking in the dough. After all... isn't that why you play poker?

Yes!

Since I started reading the board here I have been dominating - specifically how to deal with loose calling stations.

Check out my standings in my home league.

Of course, but the games that we play here are low limit too. No one else really has any kind of BR to play higher limits. Secondly, I'm like you I play for fun in person and the closest casino is 5hrs away.

No. I host a weekly $5 tournament (during the school year) and I play like a donkey every week.

Yeah, I've been absolutely rolling over my home games for the last year. Luckily, my friends don't seem to care, so I haven't been banned yet.

I started doing a little better when I read Hellmuth's book, but mostly, it's been a combination of watching enough poker to know how to properly play in these situations and a bit of luck.

Yes, my friends all know I'm obsessed with Poker. So I can't get a game going often enough. I think I scared them when I started throwing out percentages while we were watching Poker on TV. We used to do $20 tourny's, but we agreed to just start doing $5 tournaments so I don't take the game that seriously anymore when I'm playing with my friends. It's more of just hang out with the guys, talk $hit and drink. If only I could dominate like this in the poker clubs.

Nope. My home game is a mixed bag, I feel like the best player at the table but I don't dominate. I'm probably running bad though and since I play more hands online in two days than two months of the home its hard to say.

Anyway, we play from 3/6 to 5/10 and occasionally Pot Limit HL. I got stuck $450 at PL one night and so did all the other regulars when this really really loose dude just kept playing every hand and nailing every flop. We played with a $150 max buy-in and after about 9 hours of playing he left with $2250.

Couple weeks ago I got stuck another $450 playing 4/8 because all my made hands got sucked out on and all my draws missed.

All the other times I've ended up slightly or moderately ahead but never huge. The other players in the game called me "Mr. Consistent" which I guess is a compliment.

Its a good game though, a mix of skills, serious but at the same time really comfortable and friendly.
